..Looking at purchasing an '03 Savage, and I have an oil question for ya:
(This entire message, of course, excludes synthetics...no polymers, I think)
While at the dealership, I noticed "10w-40" stamped into the oil fill plug of the Savage.
Just wondering: Is 10w-40 what you guys/gals use year round? If so, why not use 20w-50 instead? It has the same point spread, and would seem alot less likely to shear its polymers.
Fewer polymers seem to be better for our engines. Is there some reason Suzuki specifies 10w-40 instead of 20w-50?
Thanks,
Justin.
